Writing and Research»

I am a professional writer with an academic and corporate background and a number of years experience in various areas, including: medical and health issues, energy, environmental concerns, tourism and leisure, fashion, politics, film and history. I began freelancing in 2009 and have been involved in a number of interesting projects. You can see some of the latest projects here.

I am also a fiction writer with more than a passing interest in biographical subjects and as such would be interested in ghost writing or collaborative projects. If you need any help with a project you're working on, please get in touch.

All of my writing work, whether factual or fiction involves research. I am always happy to undertake pure research projects. Again, you can see further details of projects I have worked on here.

Market Research»

Over the past five years or so I have become involved in market research coding work. I construct code frames for the open-ended questions on completed verbatims and then code the questionnaires. I have mostly worked in the area of health and medical surveys, but my skills here are transferrable to other areas.

I am in the process of designing code frame templates which can be used for a number of different types and styles of surveys. These will give clients an upfront idea of what the finished product will be like and also allow for client input early on in the project. It will also make coding projects quicker, more efficient and the finished codes cleaner and easier for the analysts to work with.

I undertake this work in collaboration with a colleague who has over a decade of experience  in this area and who will be available to work with me on large projects. She is also a professional translator which facilitates us undertaking coding work in a variety of languages.
