PROFILE

I have a degree in History from the University of Worcester and worked as an academic researcher at Portsmouth University for two years. During this time I specialised in Victorian social history - looking specifically at sexuality and prostitution - as well as resarching other areas including: Irish political history in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, nationalism, German and American political history.

In more recent years I have undertaken research projects for a Health Trust, involving analysis of length of stay statistics and working within a multi-agency committee to facilitate secondary health care arrangements for patients with continuing needs;  a multi-national tour company, where I undertook various on-going and one-off projects inolving commercial concerns and outside factors, producing analysis and management reports; and most recently a large engineering firm, where I specialised in energy projects in both renewable and non-renewable fuels. I also wrote various documents explaining the backgrounds and sustainabiliity of certain renewable options.

Outside of my full-time professional roles, I have maintained an interest in other areas, writing a fashion blog which has occasionally been used in edited form in fashion magazines, writing about film, which led to me being commissioned to write a film studies book on the subject of Apocalypse Now.

As a freelancer I have written a number of articles on environmental subjects and used my research and analysis skills in working with market research companies in code frame construction and verbtim coding. Projects are updated continually and to get a better idea of what I have been working on recently, please go here to see a summary of my recent projects
